Centre Maximus II represents
the expansion of Maximus
Retail Centre, completed in 2006. On the ground floor the
structure houses additional retail areas of various sizes while
upper floor comprises three movie theatres and entertainment
areas with bowling and billiards. The recessed outdoor area
near the entrance is arranged as a small square/park with a
fountain and a group of poplar trees - verticals to contrast
the horizontal orientation of the volume. Principal elevations
are finished in black metal panels, emphasizing the structure's
orientation within with its black box appearance. Eastern elevation,
facing the original centre, is finished in contrasting yellow.
Inside, a neutrally coloured ceramic floor combining matte and
glossy tiles connects the old and the new volume, while faceted
cupolas provide ample natural light in the mall.
