URBAN CONCEPT AND APARTMENTS FOR THE ELDERLY RADENCI

The complex of Apartments for the elderly on a site owned by the Municipality of Radenci is located south of the railway line as a part of the new urban design of the area, where it represents a new concentration of living space in connection with existing accommodation facilities for different age groups, with good connection to existing urban and tourist qualities of Radenci.
The complex is arranged in three buildings standing on the common basement floor. The orientation of the buildings enables optimal lighting conditions, and at the same time it connects nicely to the existing geometries of the surrounding urban systems. As part of the integrated arrangement, these are buildings S6, S7 and S8. The last one, the S8 building is connected to the new square , which is in turn connected to the cultural program and across the raliway line also with the municipal building, and then futher on to the spa complex with the city park. To the south, the complex is opens to the beautiful landscaping along Boračevski potok with the town church. In building S8, public contents of the complex create significant added value. All of these programs are available to residents, but at the same time they are open to the public, providing a nice mix of internal and public, so that the residents feel part of the urban pulse. The buildings stand on the construction base of the basement, where parking, storage, and technilogical areas are arranged. Three buildings with four floors above ground are adequately spaced to provide optimal lighting and optimal contact with nature. On the first floor, the facilities are connected by a glazed walkway, which allows all residents access to common and public programs in the S8 facilities.
