Valeta with its steep slopes
at the intersection of principal road to Sečovlje and road
to Piran offers an exceptional programme and ambient potential.
Easy accessibility and superb views of Piran Bay enhance the
site's quality and provide the basis of programme scheme.
On one hand, Portorož has long been faced with parking space
deficiency, on other; there aren't many spaces for development
of housing capacities left. Proposed project addresses both
problems. At the back of the structure, parking capacities
are arranged in the slope, the front with views is an obvious
choice for quality housing programme. A large plaza with public
programmes is arranged at the entrance on the bottom level.
Building's capacity comprises 506 parking spaces and 63 apartment
units with 80 m2 of closed areas and 16 m2 of loggias.
Apartment line is envisaged as a series of wedged units, with
interchanging levels they form a matrix of open and closed
spaces; lush greenery merges the building into the landscape.
Inspired by two historic dwelling types, cave dwellings and
hanging gardens, the concept offers a high level of intimacy
while still retaining excellent views of the bay. |
