The
SGP Pomgrad Office Building, built in 2000 on the corner
of a large construction company complex, addresses its environment
with a complex expression of function, construction and materials.
The new annex, located to the south of the building, is connected
to the existing communication core; thus, it only houses offices.
A compact volume of 200 m2 floor size with a single function
envisages a basic, monolith form, defining concrete as a material
with great development potential. Its different, subdued abstract
form is removed in expression from the existing building, but
rather than conflict establishes a dialogue. The new annex is
characterized by attention to proportions, finishing and construction.
Pre-reinforcement in two directions allows for a completely
open floor plan, the frame becomes rigid by attachment to the
outer concrete hull.
