The building's location,
surrounded with apartment buildings, faces an open green area
to the southeast. Entire programme is organized along the
edge of the structure: communications and secondary spaces
at the back, with offices along the north, west and east elevations.
The entrance is devised as a lifted platform incised into
primary volume. Inside, a large lobby connects all public
functions and functional spaces of Football Union. A circular
opening in the lobby ceiling is repeated in all upper floors,
thus allowing the flow natural light from the roof down to
the ground floor; at the same time, the opening connects all
the functional segments of the building into a single system.
On the roof, a spacious terrace is arranged in front on the
technical spaces.
Consistent with its use, the building diverges from surrounding
building types. Its composition follows the dynamic suggested
by the activity of football, its skin flows around the whole
structure. Floor plan is organized around a single centre
= stadium. Various activates emanate from the centre = the
field - to the edge. Facades are enveloped into a textile
skin, giving the building a monolithic appearance; optionally
the skin can serve as information medium. Construction and
installation design should ensure minimal sources entropy;
using sustainable and local materials, with minimal energy
input for maximal effect. Energy of designing process is directed
into a concept that should provide a stable building, construction
and installation-wise, extensively utilizing internal resources
such as use of low-temperature energy systems and energy recuperation
for all elements. This way, the building can stimulate energy-friendly
behaviour in its users; together with providing them with
environment friendly initiatives as bicycle infrastructure
and public transport access it establishes a work environment
that encourages rational energy use. |
