Motoric park was designed
as a result of interdisciplinary cooperation between the field
of sports physiotherapy and the architectural profession.
Its function builds on physiotherapeutic bases of the development
of the neuromuscular system. In this sense, 34 training stations
pose challenges to key motor components that enhance the individual's
motor skills. Depending on the mode of use, the stations are
flexible in a wide range of intensities, which means that
individuals with a different degree of physical fitness can
be trained safely on the selected device. In addition to muscular
activity, cognitive activity also determines the motoric ability
of the individual.
In this context, motor park includes carefully selected tools,
taking into account the instructions, present both the mental
and the motor challenge to the individual. Concentration of
stations into a spatial zone of an elongated character directly
follows the exercise program, the distance between the devices
is optimized according to the variety of users or exercise
intensities. In addition to individual use, group visits are
planned, where for the convenience of simultaneous use of
tools, it is desirable to divide into subgroups on individual
devices. Spaces for rest - benches - are distributed evenly
across the zone according to the intensity of exercise on
the motoric park equipment. Adjoining the motoric park, a
separated area is intended exclusively for the youngest, equipped
with six children's toys made of high quality timber.
With its disposition and purpose, motoric park creates a spatial
and program backbone of a wider area of arrangements of the
southern shore of Kamenšnica. This area is upgraded with four
picnics spaces and a larger space for outdoor events. The
footpaths link the mentioned programs with Expano building,
new external lighting and elements of urban equipment (benches,
baskets) functionally complement the basic purpose of the
area. Green areas are planted with local plant species, thus
helping to restore natural biotopes in an area that was regarded
as degraded prior to intervention.
