Following the client's brief,
the project strives for programme clarity and rationality on
several levels: a clear definition of construction phases with
no interruption of educational process during second phase construction,
a rational concept of volume composition with appropriate orientation
and height of 2 -3 levels. Compact composition also ensures
lower foundations cost and lower running costs.
Composition consists of four volumes, two comprising educational
spaces, the third common spaces, management and library, the
fourth volume is the gym. Complex is envisioned as a cubic composition,
programme divisions are perceived intuitively - the building
defines itself. Facade system of the educational volumes is
defined by accentuated horizontals of window openings; in the
communication area rhythm of alternating transparent and opaque
panels follows the direction of movement along the volume.
Three points connect the school to the access road. Principal
square platform is paved, with a large tree and green areas
next to the buildings: it represents the primary contact urban
area with the school. Access for first triennium is arranged
as a recess with parking spaces, where parents can safely bring
and escort children to the school entrance. A separate access
is arranged to the service courtyard, hidden behind a hedge.
Sports grounds with football/basketball courts and a running
track are arranged at the southern side of the complex. Green
areas and trees surround the volumes and recreational areas,
with a large grove serving as a barrier between sports areas
and the street.
